My bucket list
October 26th, 20102

This morning Bob Pusateri (a.k.a. @SQLBob) posted his bucket list, and was quickly followed by Brent Ozar (blog | twitter).

If we really think about, I'm sure we all have some semblance of a list of things we'd like to do before we die. Well, to keep up with the Bobses and the Brentsies, here's my list, in no particular order:

  • attend all 4 Grand Slam finals (I have been to the U.S. Open multiple times, and visited Wimbledon off-season)
  • attend a Stanley Cup finals game
  • raise at least one NHL player (we have two girls, so unless they change the rules…)
  • visit Capo Rizzuto in Crotone, Italy (done)
  • touch Stonehenge (I've been, but the boundary was 100 feet away from the stones – totally anticlimactic)
  • drive an Aston Martin
  • speak at PASS Summit
  • contribute to another project like SQL Server MVP Deep Dives (see Volume 2)
  • see a UFO
  • make a difference (my most recent reminder)

I am a passionate technologist with industry experience dating back to Classic ASP and SQL Server 6.5. I am a long-time Microsoft MVP, write at Simple Talk, SQLPerformance, and MSSQLTips, and have had the honor of speaking at more conferences than I can remember. In non-tech life, I am a husband, a father of two, a huge hockey and football fan, and my pronouns are he/him.

Holy crap Adam, you are onto something there. Maybe I can host a webcast during PASS from the Aston Martin while doing donuts in the middle of Stonehenge as a UFO flies overhead.  On NHL Draft Day.

How about seeing a UFO while doing donuts in the middle of Stonehenge in your Aston Martin???
