Microsoft has released Service Pack 1 for SQL Server 2012. Though so far it is only being made available for the x64 platform. You can download here:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35575
And read about the fixes in the following KB article:
And new features are detailed here:
The build # appears to be the same as RTM: 11.0.2100 is 11.0.3000. Which may mean it's just a ploy to bring on board all those folks who still think it's necessary to wait for SP1. I haven't tried installing it yet, as I'm still on travel, but please let me know if you have any issues.
Sorry, this was an April Fools' joke earlier this year but apparently it's kind of backfiring now. I talked about this update a little more in my post about the November 7th PASS Summit keynote.
Colleen, that is not Service Pack 1, it is Service Pack 1 CTP 4. It seems you downloaded from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34700
Instead of from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35575
Did you click the link in my post, or did you perform a separate search and download the CTP by mistake?
Well I just updated my developer edition to SP1 and the build shows 11.0.2845. I'm just sayin'
Microosft added so much functionality in SP1. Excellent!!!
I agree … let's wait for SP2 !
let's wait for SP2.:)
*lol*
i just did a google search for "sql server 2012 service pack". hit THREE was your page. at it is had been released for some months now, i thought there could have been a service pack.
you got me.
Damn you Bertrand!
Pq não vai fazer algo mais útil
Quanta falta do que fazer…É um inútil msm
LOL, this was good, Aaron.
Nice… had me wondering for a moment, too!
John: Perhaps they should have just released RTM as SP1 π
Nice one.
Since so many arbitrarily delay implementation until SP1 it may be a really good idea to do this for real.
haha – good one! π
Got me for a second. But only a second.
