Avoid SQL Server 2019 Cumulative Update #7

After releasing Cumulative Update #7 on September 2nd, Microsoft has discovered an issue with snapshot generation that was critical enough for them to pull the CU.

What you need to know:

If you haven't installed CU7 yet

Don't. Stick with Cumulative Update #6, which you can get here; or, take your chances with Cumulative Update #8.

If you have installed CU7

Uninstall it, unless you don't plan to create any snapshots (or run CHECKDB) before applying CU8.

If you have created snapshots since installing CU7, drop them.
